Life Update

still not been to a meeting, my friends are distancing themselves now, im being more open about my feelings towards the body of elders and inproper methods they use to deal with things.
its hard, yet its very liberating.

I met Jamie Oliver!!!

i got to work the "green room" and hang out with him before he went onstage.

It seems like a small thing but even this experience shows how far I've come since leaving the jw's. I would never have allowed myself to gush over a celebrity when I was a jw. God forbid I should be labeled idol-worshippping. It felt great to be silly and girlie. It's about time!

RENO & VEGAS - November Trip
by Uzzah ini am going to be in reno november 11-14 for a work related conference and will be heading to vegas afterwards for a couple of days.. i remember there being some posters that are from that area.
if you want to meet up for a cold beverage/dinner/coffee let me know.. first time to nevada so am pretty excited about the trip.
nice thing is that work pays for it!.

lack of repentance is the ONLY ground for disfellowshipping.... really?
by inkling inok, so whenever i would question the justice of the df policy, i kept.
getting the same line (even from my dad, an elder):.
people are not disfellowshipped because of the actual sin, they are.

That may be the company line but in reality, if the elders want to disfellowship you, they will. Sometimes even without meeting with you to determine any such "repentance". And even so, how exactly does one go about determining "repentance"? It's so arbitrary and judgmental. And it varies depending on which elders are dealing with your case. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

A man who knows who he is and can be with who I am. Someone who is supportive and empathetic, who can be with my emotions without feeling the need to "fix" me. A man who enjoys his work but still makes time to be with me, and is present during the times we're together, not caught up in his head with work or other concerns.
I want a man with whom I share a spiritual connection, someone whose presence in my life adds to who I am and makes me see the world with new eyes. Someone who's awakened to the illusions of this life and is not afraid to be wrong. Someone who's more interested in the journey than the destination.
I'm a very sexual person and love to explore so I'd have to have a partner who is willing to have fun with me. Someone who is comfortable with their own body and loves touch. Someone who thinks 8 hours of love-making is time well-spent.
Oh, and he must love children.

Neat thing happened last nite...
by CaptainSchmideo inmy wife and i celebrated our anniversary last nite.
we were gonna go out to dinner, just the two of us, and leave our sons home with a pizza.
they are both in band at school, and my oldest just joined the school's jazz band last week (he plays clarinet and tenor saxophone.
